    1. Very sorry to hear the news about Gerrit Noordzij. Though I never met him, his work and teachings were a huge influence on me and nearly all type designers I look up to today

    I started teaching a type class this year. We talked about Noordzij and his teachings on day one, and he continues to inform how we talk about type every day in my class. I don’t think I can overstate how immensely he has impacted the way I think about type
